Inpatient Focused Hospice & Palliative Medicine Physician

Summa Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Hospice & Palliative Medicine physician to join our well-established team of 9 physicians and 10 advanced practice providers. We are searching for a full-time provider with a primary interest in inpatient care, though we welcome candidates interested in a combination of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities.

Opportunity Highlights
- Monday through Friday schedule with standard business hours
- Weekend Call averages 10 weekends / year
- Night Call averages 3-4 nights / month
- Primary practice location is at Akron Main Campus
- Epic EMR system
- Opportunity to participate in medical education of students, residents, and HPM fellows
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team including physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurse case managers, social workers, and spiritual care professionals.
- Partnership with a community-based hospice organization and care of general inpatient hospice patients within the hospital's acute palliative care unit.
- Established referral network through the health system, ACO, and community partners.
- Program recognized as one of the first in Ohio to receive Joint Commission certification in Advanced Palliative Care.

Candidate Qualifications
- Fellowship training in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Ohio medical license.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
