BHS Workforce is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Job Description & Requirements

Med-Surg / Tele RN – Nights
Shift: Nights, 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW) required, holidays as needed
Travelers must be willing to float as needed and may be assigned to any facility based on staffing needs.

Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Active RN license at time of submission
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred/required per facility standards
- NIHSS certification
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Ability to pass a mandatory EKG exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Charge RN experience
- LTAC experience
Patient Population
Care may include:
- Observation patients
- Respiratory conditions and complications
- General Medical-Surgical diagnoses
- Palliative care, hospice, and end-of-life patients
- Psychiatric observation patients
- Diabetic patients, including newly diagnosed and those with complications
- Surgical and surgical observation patients
Required Clinical Skills
Candidates should be proficient in:
- Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- Dysrhythmia recognition and management
- Telemetry monitoring
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Blood product administration
- Chest tube management
- Colostomy/Ileostomy care
- Feeding tube care and management
- IV insertion and maintenance
- Peripheral and PICC line management
- Renal failure and pre/post-hemodialysis patient care
- Surgical drain management
- Wound care and wound vacs
- Isolation precautions and PPE
- Oral suctioning
- Rapid Response and Code Team procedures
Unit Details
- 30-bed unit
- Average daily census: 16 patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
- Float required when census is low
- Weekend coverage required
- Orientation: 48 hours

Compliance & Submission Requirements
Required at Submission
- Active RN License
- Current Driver's License (used to verify residency)
- Requested Time Off (RTO) must be submitted with application
- Complete work history and required documentation
Compliance Requirements
- Third-party education verification required
- Degrees from institutions appearing on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit List will not be accepted
- No open background check cases permitted
- EPIC experience required
- Mandatory EKG competency exam (2 attempts allowed)
Local Candidate Policy
- No local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility will be considered.
